The Seahawks opened the 2021-22 season with an impressive road win at Morris College (S.C.), 68-35. KU, which held the Hornets to just four points in the first quarter, never trailed in the contest.
Jumping out to an 18-4 lead in the first quarter set the tone as KU led by as many as 39 in the lopsided victory.

"I think our team played very unselfish basketball. We pushed the ball a little too much at times but I'm happy with them wanting to look for those opportunities. We knew that mistakes were going to happen with it being the first game of the season. The biggest thing for us as a team is to work on ourselves and get better."
