The Keiser men's tennis team finished day one of the ITA Cup on Thursday in Rome, Ga.The Seahawks went a perfect 3-0 withj a 2-0 record in singles and 1-0 record in doubles play.
The highlight of opening day was
Yassir Kilani taking down the No. 3 seeded Leo Bresson of William Carey in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6(2).
Luke Simkiss escaped his match against Leo Sprovier with a 6-1, 1-6, 7-6(6) win. Finally, the doubles team of
Geronimo Barrios and
Charly Zick took down Sprovier and his teammate Martin Carrizo by a score of 6-1, 3-6, [10-7].
Head Coach
Daniel Finn said, "The boys did a good job today of controlling what they could control. Not everything went the way we wanted, but the most important thing today was how we played the big points and found ways to win when it mattered. Biggest thing now is to rest up as best we can and get ready again for tomorrow."
