How it Happened

First Quarter
Keiser 7, Warner 11
  • It was an offensive struggle as neither team scored until the 5:50 mark when Shykim Gillion laid it in off a pass from Emily Patton.
  • Warner came right back with 11 consecutive points to lead 11-2 with 2:55 remaining in the opening quarter.
  • The Seahawks scored the final five points of the frame but trailed 11-7.

Second Quarter
Keiser 19, Warner 18
  • Angel Denis had the lone field goal as Warner took a timeout with 6:54 showing, leading the Seahawks, 11-9.
  • Chiara De Virgilio knotted the game with a layup and a Keondra Smith jumper gave Keiser their first lead of the game, 13-11, with 5:36 to go in the first half.
  • The Seahawks held the Royals off the scoreboard until Dianis Hurtado nailed a three-pointer with 4:08 remaining as WU regained a 14-13 advantage.
  • Keiser led by as many as four, 19-15, following a Patton three-pointer with 55 seconds left.
  • The Royals knocked down their fifth three-pointer of the half with seven ticks but trailed the Seahawks, 19-18.

Third Quarter

  • Warner opened the half with back-to-back three-pointers, reclaiming a 24-19 lead with 7:48 left.
  • Keiser regrouped, running off six unanswered points to go back in front, 25-24, with 4:20 showing on the scoreboard.
  • The Royals hit their final jumper of the quarter at the 3:57 mark, but the Seahawks closed with five consecutive points to lead 30-26.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 46, Warner 42
  • Stina Rehn-Andersson opened with a three-pointer as Keser claimed their largest lead of the game, 33-26.
  • Warner answered with an 8-2 run, tying the game at 35-35 with 7:20 remaining in the fourth.
  • The Seahawks responded with a 6-0 run behind three layups, retaking a 41-35 advantage at the 4:53 media timeout.
  • The Royals fought back with a 6-1 spurt to get within a point, 42-41 at the 2:11 mark.
  • Patton was fouled with 11 seconds left as she scored on a layup, increasing the advantage to 45-41 after making a free throw.
  • Keiser went on to claim the Sun Conference contest by a final score of 46-42.
