The reigning NAIA National Champions, No. 1 Keiser women's soccer team started their title defense with a 5-1 triumph at St. Thomas on Monday afternoon. The contest was the season and conference opener for the Seahawks.
How it Happened
- The Seahawks got on the board in the 22nd minute when Alicia Drott scored off a double assist from Hedda Ejnarsson and Kyoka Koshijma.
- Koshijma found the back of the net two minutes later as Maja Lundman crossed it in from the right side.
- In a blink of an eye, just 39 seconds, Ejnarsson netted her first Seahawks goal as the margin grew to 3-0.
- St. Thomas ruined the shutout hopes in the 33rd minute as Leslie Celis scored after Alexa Leizorek's shot went off the right post.
- Drott bagged her second goal of the contest in 66th minute, upping Keiser's advantage to 4-1.
- The Seahawks put the finishing touches on their 5-1 victory with a penalty kick goal by Oline Sundgot in the 89th minute.
