The No. 4 Keiser women's lacrosse team never led as they dropped their second contest of the season with a 20-13 loss to NCAA Division III, Moravian College Saturday afternoon.
Keiser 4, Moravian 10
- Moravian netted the first two goals of the game as the Seahawks trailed 2-0 with 25:38 remaining in the opening half.
- Maria Johnson got the Seahawks on the board at the 22:27 mark off a feed from Melanie Brown.
- Following a Greyhounds goal, Lena Finkelstein and Brown found the back of the net, tying the game at three-apiece with 19:22 left.
- MU ran off four unanswered goals to lead 7-3, forcing a KU timeout with 12:33 showing on the scoreboard.
- Moravian tallied three of the final four goals of the half to lead the Seahawks at the half, 10-4.
Keiser 13, Moravian 20
- The Seahawks struck first in the opening minute of the second half when Bridget Reddington connected with Brown for her second goal of the game.
- Once again, Moravian had a response as the Greyhounds netted back-to-back goals to extend their lead too 12-5 with 26:54 remaining in the game.
- Keiser scored two of the next three goals in the contest to make the score 13-7, but the Greyhounds reeled off two straight scores to build their lead back to eight with 20:39 left.
- Brown and Raymond answered the 2-0 spurt by the Greyhounds with one of their own to cut the deficit to 15-9 as 18:39 remained in the contest.
- The score by Brown was her third of the contest, marking her second hat trick of the season.
- Moravian's lead bloomed to 19-9 courtesy of a 4-0 run that was capped off at the 11:19 mark.
- Keiser netted four of the final five goals of the contest, but the surge was too late as Moravian came away with the 20-13 road win.
- 9:Â Brown led the Seahawks with three goals on the afternoon as nine different Keiser players netted a score.
- 11: Keiser forced 11 caused turnovers, led by Gokey with two.
- 11: Covell tallied 11 saves in the loss.
- 15: The Seahawks won 15 draw controls, led by Beikirch and Myers with four apiece.
