Keiser University had their four-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon, falling to St. Thomas, 69-57.
Keiser 10, St. Thomas 16
- St. Thomas scored the opening four points before a runner in the paint by Keondra Smith and Chiara De Virgilio three-pointer gave Keiser their first lead, 5-4, with 6:35 remaining.
- The Bobcats answered with a 7-0 run to go back ahead, 11-5, at the first media timeout with 3:56 showing on the scoreboard.
- Three straight points by Emily Patton and a Shykim Gillion layup cut the deficit to one with 2:11 to go in the opening quarter.
- STU notched the final five points of the quarter to lead the Seahawks, 16-10.
Keiser 28, St. Thomas 38
- STU led 19-11 when Patton and Sanabria hit back-to-back three-pointers, bringing the Seahawks to within one at the 7:43 mark.
- Smith briefly knotted the game at 19-19 with a pair of free throws but nine straight points by the Bobcats put them back on top, 28-19, with 4:23 to go at the media stoppage.
- The Bobcats led by as many as 12, 38-26, forcing Keiser into a timeout with 1:45 left in the opening half.
- Smith accounted for the final points of the half as the Seahawks trailed, 38-28. Patton led the way in the half with 11 points.
Keiser 42, St. Thomas 50
- The Seahawks cut the margin to nine on a pair of occasions before St. Thomas ran off seven unanswered points to lead 49-33 with 3:37 left and a KUÂ timeout.
- Keiser closed the quarter on a 9-1 spurt to trail 50-42 as Smith accounted for the first three points and Gillion had the final six points.
Keiser 57, St. Thomas 69
- The Seahawks scored five of the opening seven points to get within, 52-47, with 6:59 to go in the fourth.
- St. Thomas came right back with an 8-2 spurt, stretching their advantage to 60-49 with 5:27 left.
- Keiser saw their four-game winning streak come to an end, falling by a final of 69-57.
