No. 1 Keiser University saw their 28-game winning streak come to an end this evening, falling on the road in overtime against No. 4 Southeastern, 2-1.

How it Happened
  • The Seahawks trailed for the first time this season in the 14th minute when Makayla Peddycoart sailed a shot from 35-yards out into the upper right corner.
  • Keiser knotted it up at one-apiece in the 34th minute with an own goal as Maja Henriksson's cross deflected off a Fire defender and into the back of the net.
  • Maja Lundman nearly put the Seahawks on top in the 44th minute but her shot from just outside the box was punched over the bar.
  • The second half remained deadlocked at 1-1 despite KU holding an 11-8 edge in shots.
  • Southeastern scored just a minute into overtime as Jennifer Luna touched in a corner by Naira Lopez, winning 2-1.

Game Notes
  • The Seahawks are now 12-2-3 all-time against the Fire.
  • Tonight was the first loss for Keiser in Lakeland, moving to 3-1-2 all-time.
  • The Fire's goal in the 14th minute put Keiser behind for the first time this season.
  • Keiser's program-best 28 game winning streak came to an end this evening. 
  • The Seahawks last conference loss came in 2016 and was just the second all-time under head coach Mat Dunn.
