The top-ranked women's soccer team began Sun Conference play with a dominant 7-0 victory against Webber International. Keiser has now won six straight games and has shutout their last four opponents.

How it Happened
  • The Seahawks' pressure paid dividends in the 29th minute, as Maja Henriksson fired a shot that was initially saved. However, Matilda Ovenberger was in the right spot at the right time as the ball slipped away from the keeper and fired it into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
  • Ovenberger would strike again in the 37th minute, making the most of her opportunity from the penalty stripe after a Warrior infraction.
  • The score remained 2-0 Keiser at the halftime whistle, with the Seahawks holding a lopsided 28-0 advantage in the shots category.
  • It didn't take long for the Seahawks to extend their lead in the second frame, as Linnea Axengren netted her first goal of the season as she blasted the ball into the far post upper 90 from the right side off a pass from Kyoka Koshijma.
  • Minutes later, Koshijma one-timed a pass from Josefine Troneby with a creative chip over the goalkeeper for her first score of 2019, and it was 4-0 Seahawks in the 54th minute.
  • The floodgates continued to open as Keiser dictated the run of play, adding three more tallies before the final whistle. Ovenberger completed a hat-trick on Troneby's second assist of the game in the 72nd minute, Camryn Socha scored her first collegiate goal on an assist from Sophie Franck in the 77th minute, and Maja Lundman rounded out the scoring with a long-range strike on a Franck assist in the 79th minute.

  • The Seahawks are now 19-2-0 all-time against the Warriors.
  • Nina Haeberlin and Amanda Ewald combined for the Seahawks' seventh clean sheet of the season. It was Ewald's first action of the year.
  • This was the second straight game that the Keiser defense didnt allow a shot.
  • Ovenberger's hat-trick is the sixth of her collegiate career and first this season, and she now leads the team with six goals this season.
  • Every active player for the Seahawks saw action throughout the entire contest.
  • All ten field starters registered at least one shot, led by a game-high 11 from Ovenberger.
