KU HIGHLIGHTS
  • Keiser's three seniors, Kyli Towner, Hayley Mazreku, and Julia Gagliardi were celebrated prior to the Senior Day game for their contributions both on and off the field for the Seahawks. Since 2018 with all three of these players on the field, the Seahawks have played to an impressive record of 23-7 and 14-2 on Arrigo Vecellio Field.
  •  Cat Raymond led KU offensively with four points on the day on a goal and three assists.
  • 11 different Seahawks scored and seven different players had multi-goal games, as led by Madalyn Huber's hat-trick.
  • Keiser was effective on 16-of-20 clear attempts in the contest, transitioning the ball from the defensive end into the offensive third of the field.
  • Micaela Rillo led the Seahawks with five ground balls, while both Huber and Lena Finkelstein caused two Gyrene turnovers.
  • Jessica Covell got the victory in net, playing the opening half while recording nine saves and conceding just three goals. Mickey Sherrill played well in the second half too, and gave up just two goals while stopping four shots.
TURNING POINT
From the opening whistle No. 4 Keiser took control, and two goals in the opening two minutes proved to be the start of a streak of six unanswered Seahawk scores.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 57 seconds into the matchup with the visitors from Ave Maria, Se'Anna Beikirch started off the scoring for Keiser and the senior Mazreku notched another not soon after off a pass from Reddington to put the Seahawks in front 2-0.
  • The game's first two goals proved to be the first two of six consecutive Seahawk goals, as the hosts built a 6-0 lead following a score with 17:41 on the clock in the first half.
  • Ave Maria produced the game's next two goals to make it 6-2 Keiser, but a swift response of six consecutive goals once again from the hosts made it 12-2 with 6:11 remaining in the half. Six different players scored for the Seahawks during the run as the offense remained well-balanced.
  • Ave Maria found the back of the net for one goal before the half, but Huber did as well, and the two sides went into the break with the score at 13-3 Seahawks.
  • Keiser was able to continue the momentum at the start of the final 30 minutes of play, as Beikirch, Rillo, and Dakota Zdun each recorded their second goals of the game to push the advantage to 16-3 at the 21:27 mark.
  • The Gyrenes were able to create two scoring opportunities that proved to be fruitful, but the Seahawks proceeded to net the final three tallies of the game with Huber's hat-trick being completed with just 15 seconds remaining.
  • Keiser remained unbeaten in the Mid-South Conference so far in 2019 with the dominant 19-5 victory, and sent the seniors out in the right fashion in their final outing on Arrigo Veceliio Field.
