TURNING POINT
Keiser's opening score of the game from
Hayley Mazreku brought the Seahawks to within a single goal but the Patriots rattled off five straight goals to gain the upper hand early, 7-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Patriots came out of the gate with a goal just 36 seconds into the contest, and tacked on another to go in front 2-0 with 26:14 on the clock.
- Keiser got into the scoring column for the first time as Raymond found a cutting Mazreku with 24:43 remaining in the half.
- From that point on however, the opening half was dominated by No. 7 Cumberlands as the Patriots netted five consecutive goals to widen the lead to 7-1 with 5:19 left on the clock.
- Raymond connected with Kyli Towner to make it 7-2 with 2:06 remaining, but the hosts tallied the final marker of the half to go into the break leading, 8-2.
- The Patriots scored the opening five goals of the second half to go in front 13-2 before Rillo found the back of the net to end the run.
- Cumberlands came right back with three straight goals to lead 16-3 but Melanie Brown scored the games final goal on a man-up opportunity off an assist by Lomaglio with 29 seconds as Keise suffered their first conference loss of the year, 16-4.
