KU HIGHLIGHTS
- Keiser's victory earned the Seahawks a three-way share of the Mid-South Conference regular season crown in the inaugural season of women's lacrosse in the conference. No. 5 Marian and No. 7 Cumberlands also posted identical 4-1 marks in conference play.
- The Seahawks matched the win total of 12 from the 2018 season, which is a program high.
- Â With seven draw controls in the game, Madalyn Huber surpassed her previous record of 90 draw controls in a season set during the 2018 campaign. She now has 91 draw controls on the season, and she also added a goal and three ground balls in the victory.
- Cat Raymond was effective offensively and recorded three goals and an assist for the Keiser cause, becoming the first player in Keiser women's lacrosse history to reach 100 career points.
- Melanie Brown, Valeria Lomaglio, and Se'Anna Beikirch each contributed two goals, with Brown dishing out an assist as well.
- Keiser won the ground ball battle by scooping up 20 to Georgetown's 12, with Huber and Margo Reed each being credited with three.
- Mickey Sherrill and Jessica Covell split time at goalkeeper, with Covell earning the win for her second half performance that included eight saves and just three goals allowed.
TURNING POINT
Georgetown ended the opening half with a surge to tie it up, but the No. 3 Seahawks scored the first four goals of the second half to gain the separation needed to go on for the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Se'Anna Beikirch opened the game's scoring after just one minute and 18 seconds were played, but the Tigers proceeded to go on a 4-0 run that put the hosts in front 4-1 with 23:52 until halftime.
- The Seahawks responded strongly however with a 5-0 spurt of their own to go in front 6-4, capped off by a Micaela Rillo score on a man-up opportunity with 13:49 on the clock.
- After the Tigers found a goal to slow the Keiser momentum, the Seahawks built their largest lead of the game so far at 8-5 with back-to-back goals, the last one coming from Kylie Towner with 4:30 until the halftime whistle.
- Georgetown's Avery Blackmon would then go on to score three straight goals, sending the teams into the break all tied up at eight goals apiece.
- The Seahawks got off to a quality start to the deciding second half, notching four unanswered goals in the first ten minutes of the half to go in front 12-8.
- The Seahawk lead was eventually cut to 12-10 at the 11:41 mark with a Tiger goal, but the defense held firm and Jade Dougherty, Hayley Mazreku, and Lomaglio each had goals to effectively put the game out of reach with at 15-10 with 3:41 remaining.
- Georgetown tacked on a goal with just 1:15 still on the clock, but at the final buzzer Keiser prevailed 15-11 to secure the share of the Mid-South Conference title.
- The 15-11 final score in favor of Keiser matched that of the 2018 meeting between the two sides in a game that was played in West Palm Beach.

UP NEXT
The Seahawks will head to the first-ever Mid-South Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed after the three-way tiebreaker with top-seeded Cumberlands and the No. 3 seed Marian. No. 3 Keiser will receive a bye in the opening round and play in the semifinals against the winner of Marian and Life University on Friday, April 26 at the University of the Cumberlands' James H. Taylor, II Stadium in Williamsburg, Kentucky. The conference tournament final will then take place on Saturday, April 27. Â
