Offensive Struggle
Keiser scored their only run of the game in the first before being shut out for the remainder of the contest.
How it Happened
- Siena Heights used three straight one-out singles to take the first lead of the game, 1-0. A sacrifice fly to right raised the advantage to two runs.
- Encarnacion led off the game with a double left and moved to third on a groundout to short. Hall then trimmed the margin to a run with an RBI single to third. VanKan followed with a single and De La Cruz walked to load the bases but Shane Olive flew out to center for the final out of the frame.
- In the fourth, the Saints loaded the bases with nobody-out but Todd Mercado came out of the bullpen to retire the next three hitters, including a pair of strikeouts, as KU still trailed 2-1.
- Keiser had a chance to tie or take their first lead of the day in the bottom half with the bases loaded and one-out but a strikeout and ground out ended the threat.
- Siena Heights tacked on a run in the sixth on an RBI single up the middle before Keiser threatened in the bottom half.
- The first two Seahawks reached before Jonathan Fernandez moved them up a base with a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt. Following a strikeout, Cristian Sanjurjo drew walk to load the bases but Purcell struck out swinging to end the inning.
- Keiser was held scoreless in the final two-innings as they fell, 3-1, in the neutral site matchup.
