KU HIGHLIGHTS
- Keiser out shot Life 40-13 and placed 30 of the shots on the frame of goal on the way to the Seahawks' seventh straight victory.
- Far more often than not, the Seahawks were the team to collect the loose balls, with Keiser holding a 31-22 edge in ground balls and 20-8 advantage on draw controls.
- Keiser converted 8-of-10 free-position attempts.
- The story of the day was balanced scoring for the Seahawks, as eight different players were able to score two goals.
- After breaking the single-season school record for assists, freshman, Bridget Reddington continued her high-level of play, leading Keiser in total points with five on two goals and three more assists.
- Madalyn Huber caused a game-best five turnovers, and also recorded four draw controls along with Se'Anna Beikirch and Valeria Lomaglio.
- In addition to her two goals and one assist, Hayley Mazreku led KU with five ground balls.
- Jessica Covell and Mickey Sherrill split time in net, each making wo saves as Covell earned her ninth win of the season between the posts.
TURNING POINT
From the opening whistle, Keiser established control of the pace of the game and went on to produce the game's first seven tallies.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mazreku opened the game's scoring just 51 seconds into the contest as the goal was the beginning of seven unanswered goals for Keiser. During the stretch, Reddington provided a goal and three assists to help give the Seahawks the 7-0 lead at the 14:54 mark.
- Life's offense then came alive, scoring three straight goals to climb within 7-3 with 9:38 left in the opening half.
- However, back-to-back goals by Jade Dougherty extended the advantage back out to 9-3 with 7:32 still to play in the first half.
- The teams exchanged goals during the remainder of the half as the Seahawks remained on top, 12-6, heading into the locker room.
- After trading goals to open the second half. Keiser ran off five straight goals to take their largest lead of the game, 18-7, with 14:41 remaining in regulation. Three of the five goals during that run came on man-up opportunities.
- Two of the final three scores belonged to the Running Eagles, but it was far too little, too late as No. 5 Keiser went on to the 19-9 Mid-South Conference win to remain unbeaten in conference play at 2-0 and on the home field at 7-0.
