How it Happened
- The Sand Sharks put runners on the corners with one-away in the first but Tworek buckled down to get a strikeout and ground out to escape the early jam.
- In the bottom half, the Seahawks pushed across two runs on an RBI single to left-center by Gottsacker and a sacrifice fly to center by Crocitto.
- For the second straight inning, USCB threatened with the bases load and two-away but Tworek induced an inning ending groundout.
- The Seahawks used clutch two-out hitting in third behind RBI singles from Fernandez, Casanueva, and a two-run double to left by VanKan to lead 6-0.
- Just like the previous frame, Keiser plated three runs with two-outs, highlighted by a two-run home run to left by Casanueva, raising the margin to 9-0.
- A second sacrifice fly in the contest by Crocitto made it 10-0, Keiser in the fifth inning.
- Tworek and Rooney combined to shutout the Sand Sharks in the final two frames as KU took the opening game of the series in seven-innings, 10-0.

How it Happened
- The Seahawks were held hitless until Crocitto connected on a two-out double in the fourth but VanKan was thrown out at third on the play, as the game remained scoreless.
- In the sixth, USCB nearly took their first lead of the day with a runner on third and nobody out but Voss retired the next three batters, keeping the score at 0-0.
- The game remained scoreless until Casanueva went yard for the second time today, towering a ball over the big blue fence in left to lead 1-0.
- VanKan extended the lead out to 2-0 with a sacrifice fly to left, scoring courtesy runner, Kyle Allen.
- Alfonso shut the door in the ninth with his second save of the year as the Seahawks secured the doubleheader sweep.
