- Ryan Johnson paced the Seahawk attack with five points on three goals and two assists.
- Hunter East found the back of the net for two more scores, and now leads Keiser on the season with eight goals.
- Tyler Kalmowitz and Justin Stone each had a goal in the contest, while John Senior and Emmanuel Walker recorded assists.
- Stone and Aaron Collins led Keiser with five ground balls apiece.
- Both sides won ten faceoffs, and the Seahawks' Collins was 9-of-18 on the faceoffs he participated in.
- Goalkeeper Marco Olortegui played the entirety of the contest, picking up two ground balls while making 14 saves.
- Keiser was effective in advancing the ball into the attacking half of the field, successfully clearing 32-of-34 attempts.
TURNING POINT
The Seahawks scored the first three goals of the second half to seize their first lead of the game, but No. 2 Madonna was able to regroup and regain the Crusaders' lead by netting four of the next five scores in the high-scoring third quarter.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- No. 2 Madonna opened the game's scoring by capitalizing on a man-up opportunity in the first quarter, but East scored first for the Seahawks on a pass from Johnson to equalize with 6:15 left in the first quarter.
- The Crusaders held a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter however, and proceeded to score the first two goals of the second quarter to go ahead 4-1 before Johnson's tally on the assist from Walker sent the Seahawks into halftime trailing by just two goals, 4-2.
- No. 7 Keiser came out of the break determined to work their way back into it, and scored three consecutive goals to go in front for the first time, 5-4 at the 9:58 mark of the third quarter. East, Stone, and Kalmowitz found the back of the net during that run, which got Keiser right back into the contest in short order.
- Madonna however was able to produce a run of their own with four unanswered scores, and held a lead of 8-5 nearing the end of the third quarter.
- Johnson scored once again for the Seahawks with just 52 seconds left in the third to make it 8-6 Madonna in the even third quarter, as both sides scored four times.
- The Crusaders built a 10-6 advantage after the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, but Johnson had a great response for the Seahawks with his third goal of the game on a pass from Senior to complete his hat trick with 9:17 on the clock.
- Keiser had some scoring chances in the final minutes of play, but both sides went scoreless as the Crusaders were able to remain unbeaten on the season by prevailing 10-7 in the neutral field matchup between two NAIA Top-10 teams.
