How it Happened
- The opening quarter featured four ties and the Seahawks trialing until Nikki Saunders converted a pair of free throws with 46 seconds remaining, giving KU their first lead, 13-11.
- Keiser came up with a big stop on the defensive end before Long connected on a three-pointer off a nice pass from Rodriguez to lead by five as the game headed to the second quarter.
- KU remained in front until Destiny Wilson converted on a layup at the 2:24 mark, putting STU back ahead, 27-25.
- The teams then exchanged a pair of baskets as the game headed into the half, tied at 29-29.Â
- Keiser trailed by five on two occasions before four straight points from Jhanai Felix and an old fashion three-point play by Dyson brought KU to within one, 44-43, with 2:35 to play in the third.
- The Seahawks got to within a possession on three occasions but Chakari Merrit made a layup at the buzzer to make it 53-49, St. Thomas with one quarter to play.
- St. Thomas controlled the fourth quarter as the Bobcats outscored the Seahawks 24-16Â to win by a final of 77-65. KU was unable to cut the margin to a single possession during the entirety of the period.
