Keiser Highlights
  • Andrija Matic was the high-scorer for Keiser with 11 points to go along with six rebounds.
  • Marko Orlic led Keiser in rebounds (9) assists (5), and steals (4), and also chipped in seven points.
  • Marko Radulovic was the only other double-figure scorer alongside Matic, as the guard finished with ten points

Turning Point
An Antoine Joe four point play for St. Thomas gave the Bobcats the largest lead of the game at 14 points, 35-21, with 14:03 left in the contest. The advantage proved to be enough for the Bobcats to leave West Palm Beach with a victory, as STU was able to fight off Keiser attempts to get back into the ball game from that point forward.

How it Happened
  • Despite three early points from Matic, St. Thomas held Keiser to a slow start offensively and held a 12-3 lead all the way until the first media timeout with 14:37 on the clock.
  • After a St. Thomas basket, both sides seemed stuck in offensive droughts until the Seahawks were able to produce back-to-back buckets, the first from Bryce Thurston on a baseline jumper and the second from Orlic on a swooping drive that brought the game to the second media timeout with 9:07 on the clock, St. Thomas leading 14-7.
  • Orlic canned a step-back triple to extend the Keiser run to 7-0 and make it 14-10, but St. Thomas responded right back with a long ball of their own with 7:03 remaining in the first half.
  • Two Matic free-throws made it 17-12 St. Thomas with 6:36 on the clock, but the Bobcats proceeded to net the next five points to go back in front by double digits, 22-12.
  • Although an Orlic fast break dunk came just a split second after the halftime horn, Keiser was able to account for the final three points of a defensive battle in the first half, as the Bobcats went into the break leading 22-15.
  • Keiser came out of the half and scored the first four points to draw to within a single possession, 22-19 STU, following a Jermar Perkins fast break layup and Radulovic pull up jumper.
  • St. Thomas however went right back ahead by six points, and it remained that way until there was 14:54 on the clock for the first media timeout in the second half with the score at 27-21, STU.
  • Out of the timeout the Bobcats continued what became a 10-0 run, capped off by an improbable four point play from guard Antoine Joe with 13:03 left in the contest to give the Bobcats the largest lead of the game, 35-21.
  • The Seahawks scored four straight, and the two teams went back-and-forth in the next few minutes to put the score at 39-30 after a Javen Soto baseline jumper with 10:29 to play.
  • The Seahawks were able to draw to within two possessions at 42-36 with a 6-0 spurt, but as STU had so often done throughout the game, the Bobcats thwarted the Keiser momentum. St. Thomas rattled off five consecutive points to go back up by 11, 47-36, with just 5:50 remaining.
  • Keiser was never able to get any closer than nine points for the remainder of the contest, as the Bobcats preserved the away Sun Conference victory in the low-scoring affair, 59-45.

Inside the Box Score
  • Keiser was 5-19 in the first half (26.3 percent), but the Seahawk defense kept them within striking distance by holding St. Thomas to 8-29 (27.6 percent). For the game Keiser was able to hold St. Thomas to just 39.7 percent shooting from the floor on 23-of-58, but the Seahawks only were able to muster a 41 percent clip on 16-of-39 from the floor.
  • St. Thomas held a 35-27 edge in the rebounding battle, and had ten offensive rebounds to Keiser's two.

Game Notes
  • Keiser still leads the all-time series 16-11, despite St. Thomas taking two wins in the 2018-2019 regular season and halting the Seahawks' five game winning streak in the Sun Conference.
  • It was Keiser's lowest scoring output since a 56-45 defeat at Thomas on November 15, 2018, and moved Keiser down to fourth place in the Sun Conference standings with three games to play.
