How it Happened
  • The Grizzlies plated four runs in the second, one in the third, and one in the fourth before Keiser got on the board in the bottom half of the frame.
  • Janelle Dominguez drew a two-out walk before moving to second on an Ostrander single to third. Carver then plated the Seahawks first run with an RBI double to right as Keiser trailed 6-1.
  • Neither team crossed the plate again until Georgia Gwinnett pushed across four more runs in the seventh to lead 10-1.
  • In the bottom half, Ostrander connected on a leadoff double to center and moved up a base on a Carver single to center. Following a Mueller pop up, Northway scored Ostrander with an RBI groundout to third as Keiser fell in the opening game, 10-2.

Keiser Highlights
  • The Seahawks handed No. 5 Georgia Gwinnett their first loss of the season after coming out on top in eight innings, 3-2.
  • Keiser has now played two extra-inning games against ranked opponents and are 1-1 in those contests.
  • Avery Miller and Northway had the only two hits for Keiser in the contest.
  • Autumn Green notched her second win of the year after tossing a complete game. The senior did not allow an earned run while striking out two.

Key Error
The Seahawks took advantage of a wild throw from the pitcher with two-outs in the eighth as two runs came in to score.

How it Happened
  • Ally Thompson walked to start the game and moved up to second on a sacrifice bunt by Troiana Test. Miller then laced a double to center as the Seahawks took a 1-0 advantage.
  • GGC threatened to score in the third with the bases loaded and one-away but Green got Robinson to ground into a fielder's choice for the second out. Green then had a pitch get away from her but Dominguez was able to recover the ball and beat the runner to the plate for the final out of the inning,
  • In the very next inning, the Grizzlies again loaded the bases with two-outs but Busbee flew out to left as KU remained on top, 1-0.
  • Georgia Gwinnett finally broke through in the fifth with an unearned run as Robinson laced a one-out double to center, tying the game at one-apiece.
  • The Grizzlies nearly had their first lead of the game in the sixth with two-outs as Cox tried to score from second on a single to left but was thrown out at home on a great relay from Northway-to-Ostrander-to-Dominguez.
  • After neither team scored in the seventh, the contest went into extra-innings where the international tiebreak was in effect.
  • With Mueller placed on second, Northway led off with a single to center. Head Coach Terri Knecht then executed a double steal as the Seahawks were threatening to retake the lead.
  • The next two Keiser batters were retried before Georgia Gwinnett, pitcher, Taylor Hansis  threw the ball away on a grounder back to her, allowing two runs to score as Keiser jumped ahead 3-1.
  • Georgia Gwinnet quickly got a run back as Wagner started the inning with a double to center. A groundout to first, allowed Wagner to move up to third with one-away.
  • Green then walked Melton before Rosetti single to second as the Grizzlies now had the bases loaded.
  • However, Green settled down to get a huge strikeout, followed by a game-ending fly out left as Keiser prevailed, 3-2.
