  • The Seahawks broke the doubles record in the third inning with nine, surpassing the previous mark of eight, set in 2006 against MSOE. KU went on to finish the game with ten.

How it Happened
  • The Seahawks started off their 2019 season in a big way by batting around in the first inning, while scoring six runs on six hits to lead 6-0. In the inning, Miller had the first hit and RBI of the year.
  • Keiser then sent 11 straight batters to the plate in the second before Trinity Baptist recorded their first out with Keiser leading 15-0. The Seahawks racked up six doubles in the frame, including three straight to start off the inning.
  • The Seahawks broke the doubles record in the third as Lexi Northway and Sanchez each had one, raising the team total to nine thus far. KU plated three more runs as the margin rose to 18-0.
  • KU pushed across five more runs in the fourth to come away with the opener by a final of 23-0.

  • The Seahawks completed their doubleheader sweep with a 14-0 shutout of the Eagles in five innings.

Sophomore, Paige Boyle earned her first win of the 2019 season after shutting out Trinity Baptist. Boyle carried a perfect game through 4.2 innings before giving up a double.

How it Happened
  • Following a leadoff single by Ostrander in the second, Blumberg connected on her first home run of the season to give Keiser a 2-0 advantage.
  • The Seahawks soared ahead in the fourth with seven runs on eight hits to take a commanding, 9-0 lead. The scoring featured three extra base-hits including doubles by Blumberg and Megan Carver, along with a two-run home run by Thompson.
  • Keiser tacked on five more runs in the fifth, highlighted by a pair of RBI singles from Thompson and Blumberg to lead 14-0.
  • Boyle nearly completed the perfect game in the fifth but gave up back-to-back hits with two-outs. However, she settled down with runners on the corners by inducing a game-ending pop out to first.
