How it Happened
First Half: No. 22 Keiser 39, Johnson (Fla.) 43
- The opening four minutes of the game was a one possession game with two lead changes and four ties.
- With the scored tied at 10-10, the Suns tallied eight unanswered points to lead 18-10 at the first media timeout with 14:11 to play.
- The Johnson lead reached double-digits for the first time, 29-19, as the Suns continued to shoot efficiently from the floor, connecting on 12 of their first 17 shots.
- The Seahawks used an 11-3 run to draw within a single possession, 32-30 with 5:43 remaining. The run was capped off by a jumper inside from Chance Anderson, and included four points in the paint from Jermar Perkins.
- The Suns countered with seven consecutive points to push their lead to 39-30 at the 4:15 mark.
- An old-fashioned three-point play by Mark Gordon started a 9-4 Seahawks spurt, as the clock went under a minute with Johnson holding a 43-39 lead.
- After both sides had empty possessions, the Suns' four point advantage held at the halftime whistle.

- Ryan Kroll scored four of the Seahawks first six points as Keiser tied the game at 45-45 with 18:16 to go in the second half.
- Following a Jake Smith layup, KU ran off six unanswered points for their first lead of the half, 51-47, with 16:08 showing. Marko Orlic connected from deep to give the Seahawks the advantage.
- With Keiser leading 53-51, six unanswered points on back-to-back triples from Perkins and Gordon gave the Seahawks a 59-51 edge.
- Gordon then scored the next six points for the Seahawks, including a thunderous tip-jam, as the margin remained at eight points, 65-57, as the clock went under ten minutes to play.
- The Suns netted the game's next six points, drawing right back to within a possession, 65-63 at the 8:47 mark.
- Jimmy Sylvain came alive offensively for the Seahawks' response, scoring five points during an 11-3 run, giving Keiser their first double-digit lead, 76-66, with the clock approaching just five minutes to play. Â
- The Seahawks' offense went through a bit of a dry spell, as the Suns again drew to within a single possession, 76-73, with 3:18 on the clock.
- Perkins nifty step-through, scoop layup with 2:48 remaining got KU back on the scoreboard, extending their lead to 78-73.
- After being fouled on a hard, drive, Gordon made the first of two free-throws with 1:47 on the clock, reaching 30 points on the night. After missing the second shot from the stripe, Sylvain grabbed the crucial offensive rebound, proceeding to penetrate for a driving layup, putting the Seahawks in front 81-73 with 1:35 remaining.
- Johnson scored on a jumper on their next possession, but the game's final five points went to the Seahawks as KU sealed the 86-75 victory with defensive stops, three-made free-throws, and a Gordon dunk.
