The Seahawks men's soccer team defeated Florida Memorial on Wednesday afternoon, winning by a score of 5-2.
How it Happened
- The game remained even through the opening 25 minutes despite the Seahawks outshooting the Lions 7-1.
- Adrian Camacho Castro tallied the first goal of the game on a shot to the far post off a feed by Matheus Machado in the 26th minute.
- Less that a minute later, Machado scored his first goal of the season as he followed up on Ciro Damine's saved shot, giving Keiser a 2-0 lead.
- KU extended their lead in the 38th minute as Damine converted on a penalty kick, making it 3-0 going into the half.
- Florida Memorial cut into KU's lead in the opening six minute of the second half as Caleb Acosta scored two goals.
- However, Sebastian Espino responded back for the Seahawks firing a left footed shot to the near post from 15 yards out, increasing the margin to 4-2 in the 65th minute.
- Moritz Bange scored the final goal in the 67th minute as he headed the ball home on a corner kick by Espino, winning 5-2.
