No. 1 Women's Soccer Claims TSC Regular Season Championship With 3-2 Victory at St. Thomas

The No. 1 Keiser women's soccer team claimed their 14th straight Sun Conference Regular Season Championship and 15th overall after defeating St. Thomas, 3-2. With the victory, the Seahawks will have home field advantage throughout the TSC tournament.
  • The Seahawks trailed for the first time during the conference season when St. Thomas scored the opening goal of the game in the 20th minute.
  • Ten minutes later, Keiser evened the score as Kyoka Koshijma converted from the penalty spot.
  • However, St. Thomas reclaimed the lead in the 35th minute as Leslie Celis headed the ball into the back of the net.
  • KU would go into break trailing for the first time this season, 2-1.
  • Only three minutes into the second half, Keiser retied the game when Maja Henriksson played a perfect free kick into box, finding Emma Holmskov for her eighth goal of the year.
  • The Seahawks claimed their first lead of the game in the 73rd minute when Ronja Henriksson scored off a rebounded save from her sister, M. Henriksson.
  • Keiser's defense went into lock down for the remainder of the contest as the Seahawks claimed the Regular Season Championship.

  • Keiser leads the all-time series 18-2-1 including winners of the last eight games.
  • The Seahawks trailed for the first time this season at the half and for the first during conference play.
  • M. Henriksson recorded two assists, upping her season total to 15.
  • KU outshot the Bobcats 16-14 but the Bobcats held a 10-9 edge on shots on goal.
  • Holmskov and Koshijma led the Seahawks with three shots apiece.
  • Nina Haeberlin picked up the win after making eight saves.
