Behind a 28-point second half, No. 18 Keiser remained undefeated on the year, defeating No. 12 Southeastern 42-29 Saturday evening at the Keiser Football Field in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The biggest moment of the game came late in the third quarter when the Seahawks were trailing 26-21 and facing a third-and-10 at their own 36-yard line. Quarterback,
Eli Mathews scramble was short of the line to gain, but a targeting penalty by Tez Watts of Southeastern gave Keiser new life. KU capitalized six plays later to regain the lead for good.

Sage Chen-Young was the difference maker in the game as the sophomore picked off a school-record three passes on the night leading to seven points. The sophomore also added six tackles.

Ronnie Bennett led the Seahawks defense with 13 tackles and a half tackle for loss.
Maurice Murphy Jr. and
Schnider Louis followed with nine tackles each.

Offensively,
Marques Burgess rushed for 107 yards, finding the end zone three times on the ground. Mathews finished the night 13-for-18 passing for 242 yards and three scores.
Carlos Silencieux led the Seahawks in receiving yards with 66, all coming on one play.

First Quarter Highlights
Keiser 7, Southeastern 3
- Keiser won the toss and deferred to the second half, allowing the Seahawks defense to go to work first.
- The defense answered the bell on the opening drive as Kade Glenn intercepted Cooper Jones' pass as the Fire were driving into Seahawk territory.
- The offense capitalized on the turnover as Burgess punched in his first score of the game from two-yards out, putting the Seahawks up 7-0 with 8:36 to go in the quarter. The touchdown capped off an eight play 42-yard drive.
- On the ensuing possession, the Keiser defense forced a three-and-out as Seth Freeman and Bennett combined to stop Lorine Parker on third-and-one for no gain.
- After a three-and-out by the Seahawks offense, SEU got on the board as David Larson connected on a 32-yard field goal, cutting their deficit to 7-3 with 1:56 left in the first. The kick wrapped up a seven-play 25-yard drive.
- Trouble struck for Keiser on their following possession as Mathews fumbled the ball leading to a Southeastern recovery by Cory Rahman at the Keiser 27-yard line just before the end of the first.

Second Quarter Highlights
Keiser 14, Southeastern 16
- Southeastern found the end zone shortly after the start of the second quarter as Bryan Bell powered his way in from six yards out, giving the Fire their first lead of the game. However, Larson missed the extra point, making the score 9-7 with 14:24 remaining until halftime. The score finished off an eight play 27-yard drive.
- Traionn Jones broke a tackle on third down and scampered for 19-yards putting the Seahawks in business on their following drive, but unfortunately the drive stalled as they were forced to punt.
- A 40-yard completion from Jones to Antwain Adams put the Fire deep into Keiser territory on their ensuing possession. Jones connected with Eugene Witherspoon six plays later on a nine-yard score to make it 16-7 Southeastern with 7:46 to go before the half. The score capped off a nine play 78-yard drive.
- Keiser answered on the following possession as Burgess found the end zone from two-yards out, trimming the deficit to 16-14 with 1:01 left in the quarter. The run finished off a 15 play 75-yard drive.
- During the series, Mathews scrambled for a huge 15-yard gain on a third-and-five, keeping the drive alive.
- Chen Young picked off his first pass of the contest on the following Southeastern drive as the Fire were looking to add to their lead just before the end of the half. The sophomore returned the interception 53-yards, setting up the Seahawks for a 44-yard field goal attempt with two second left in the half.
- Unfortunately, Logan Robinson's attempt missed wide left and the Seahawks headed into the half trailing 16-14.

Third Quarter Highlights
Keiser 28, Southeastern 26
- Keiser received the opening kick of the second half but failed to get anything going offensively and were forced to punt.
- The Fire took to the air on the ensuing possession as Jones connected with Jacob McCrary for a 36-yard score, putting Southeastern up 23-14 with 11:29 left in the third. The long touchdown finished off a five play 56-yard drive.
- Keiser answered quickly on their next possession as Mathews hit Caleb Walls streaking down the near sideline for a 49-yard score. Robinson's extra point cut the Fire lead to 23-21 with 10:06 remaining in the third. Walls' touchdown wrapped up a four play 75-yard drive.
- SEU marched right down the field on their ensuing drive but were stuffed at the two-yard line as Ronnie Bennett batted down Jones' pass leading to a field goal. Larson knocked through the 20-yard attempt, making it 26-21, Southeastern.
- KU looked as if they did not have an answer on their following possession as Mathews was stopped short on a third down scramble, but a targeting call against Tez Watts gave the Seahawks a new set of downs.
- Six plays later, Mathews connected with Jaylen Arnold for a seven-yard score, putting Keiser back in the lead, 28-26 with 1:10 left in the third. The score finished off a 12 play 75-yard drive.
- Wide receiver, Shavon Taylor hauled in a big 36-yard catch during the drive that put the Seahawks inside the Southeastern 15-yard line.
Fourth Quarter Highlights
Keiser 42, Southeastern 29
- The fourth quarter couldn't have started any better for the Seahawks as Chen Young picked off Jones' pass at the Southeastern 32-yard line and returned it all the way down to the two yard line.
- The offense didn't need long to punch it in as Burgess scored from two-yards out on the first play as the Seahawks led 35-26 with 14:45 to go in the game.
- Chen Young came through once again for the Seahawks on the ensuing Fire drive as he picked off Jones for a third time, setting up the Seahawks with a first-and-10 from the Southeastern 19-yard line.
- However, Keiser would be stuffed at the goal line after the turnover as Burgess was unable to punch it in leading to a turnover on downs.
- The Fire went to the air on the first play of the ensuing drive as Jones connected with McCrary for a 47-yard completion, putting the Southeastern offense in business.
- The Keiser defense stood tall inside the red zone as Alessandro Cantillo recorded his first sack of the season on third-and-goal, forcing a Fire field goal attempt.
- Larson knocked through his 29-yard attempt, bringing the Fire to within 35-29 with 6:48 left in the game. The field goal capped off a nine-play 87-yard drive.
- On the second play of the ensuing series, Carlos Silencieux blew past his defender and hauled in a 66-yard score from Mathews to make it 42-29, with 6:09 to go in the game.
- After southeastern was forced to punt on their next possession, the Seahawks offense would close out the victory.
- Keiser drew two offside penalties against Southeastern on two different fourth down attempts that kept the drive alive as Seahawks were able to run out the clock to pick up the win.
