The Keiser men's soccer team defeated Florida Memorial 3-0 on Wednesday night in Sun Conference play. The Seahawks picked up their first shutout of the season behind 11 saves from Joan Carles Perez.

Keiser played stalwart defense, with Perez saving all 11 of the Lions shots on goal.

How it Happened
  • Amine Meski scored for the second straight game off assists from Evan Finnegan and Hannu Tam to give Keiser a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute.
  • Freshman, forward Ciro Damine recorded his 15th goal of the year on a penalty kick in the 41st minute to increase the margin to 2-0.
  • The Seahawks built upon their lead as Tam chipped in his sixth goal of the season on an assist from Damine in the 50th minute.
  • The Lions had a scoring opportunity with six minutes left to go in the match, however Perez stood his ground, saving consecutive shots on goal.

Game Notes
  • With Finnegan's assist in the ninth minute, he moves up to fourth most assists in a season with eight.
  • Both Meski and Damine led the Seahawks in shots tonight with four.
  • Damine has now recorded at least two points in four straight games.

Coach Gavin Oldham said "Never was going to be a great spectacle of a game but what's important is the victory and the clean sheet, we stressed this week to the guys that we needed a solid defensive performance and that's what we got. Now we rest up and look ahead to next week."
