Men's Soccer Takes Down St. Thomas, 3-1

The Keiser men's soccer team defeated St. Thomas 3-1 on Wednesday night. These two teams have faced each other for the Sun Conference Tournament title the past two years.

Stat of the Match
The Seahawks scored two straight goals in the final 23 minutes of the match with St. Thomas playing a man-down to secure the 3-1 victory.
 
How it Happened
  • The game remained deadlocked through the opening 44 minutes as both teams registered a combined 14 shots.
  • Theo Campbell found the back of the net in the final second of the first half off an assist from Evan Finnegan to give Keiser a 1-0 advantage.
  • St. Thomas evened the score in the 64th minute as Nicolo Dallomo scored on a pass from Harry Taylor.
  • The Seahawks regained the lead in the 75th minute as Hannu Tam lasered a shot to the far post off a feed from Finnegan.
  • Keiser sealed the game in the 88th minute, as Tam scored his second goal of the game off an assist from Amine Meski.

  • Keiser improved to 12-15-2 all-time against the Bobcats.
  • Joan Carles Perez was named TSC Defensive Player of the week on October 1st, for his strong defensive outing in goal against Florida Memorial.
  • The junior picked up the win in goal tonight while tallying six saves.
  • With Finnegan's two assists on the evening, he moved into a two-way tie with Ollie Isosalo for the second most assists in a season with ten.
  • Ciro Damine led the Seahawks in shots with four.

Coach Gavin Oldham said, "For us, this is an important week that needed to get started in the right direction tonight. The boys performed well and played some really good soccer. St Thomas is the defending conference champions and to come on the road and get this win is big. Now we focus on the upcoming challenge this weekend."
