Keiser Highlights
  • Marco Rivera led the Seahawks offensively with two of their four hits on the evening.
  • Despite the loss, Alec Lameroux was spectacular on the mound as the senior allowed just two unearned runs while striking out eight.

Turning Point
A two-out error by the Keiser shortstop in the first inning proved costly as the Lions scored a pair of unearned runs to claim a 2-1 advantage.

How it Happened
  • Rivera led off the ballgame by ripping the third pitch he saw for a triple to right field before scoring on a wild pitch to give Keiser a 1-0 advantage.
  • Florida Memorial responded in the bottom half with a pair of unearned runs with two outs on an error by the shortstop followed by an Axel Gomez RBI single up the middle to lead 2-1.
  • The Seahawks looked to even the game in the fifth as Tivon Faneyte led off with a bunt single to the first baseman and moved up to second on a wild pitch.
  • However, the senior was tagged out at third on a close call after Peter Crocitto's bunt went back to the pitcher. Christian Rivera then escaped the inning with a 6-4-3 double play.
  • Keiser had another opportunity to push across the tying run in the eighth as Miguel Casanueva worked a two-out walk and advanced to second on a passed ball. Pinch-hitter Karsten Sherman then struck out swinging to end the frame.
  • Rivera led off the top of the ninth with a single through the left side but was stranded on first as Rivera retired the next three batters, securing the 2-1 Florida Memorial victory.
