Keiser Highlights
  • Keiser's win is their first in the Sun Conference Tournament since the 2006 season when they defeated Thomas, 10-6.
  • The Seahawks racked up ten hits in their first Sun Conference tournament game since 2012 led by Kelsey Brodbeck's three.
  • Paige Boyle got the start in the circle for Keiser, allowing just a leadoff triple before shutting down Warner in 2.1 innings of work. Rylee Agnew and Autumn Green kept the Royals hitless in the final 4.2 innings while combining for six strikeouts.

Turning Point
Keiser's pitching staff was the difference-maker in today's 4-1 victory over the Royals. After yielding a leadoff triple in the first, the Seahawks wouldn't allow another hit for the rest of the game.

How it Happened
  • The Royals took a 1-0 lead in the first as Chantal Crocket scored on a wild pitch after reaching on a leadoff triple to left field.
  • The Seahawks answered in the third by pushing across four runs on four hits and one Warner error to take a 4-1 lead.
  • Ally Thompson and Brodbeck opened the inning with infield singles before Miller drove in the first Keiser run with a one-out RBI bunt single to first.
  • The Seahawks then claimed their first lead of the tournament, 2-1 as Janelle Dominguez laced an RBI single to left.
  • A costly fielding error on the Royals shortstop allowed Miller to score and an RBI fielder's choice by Bermari Figueroa upped the advantage to 4-1.
  • That's all the Seahawks pitching staff would need as Agnew and Green wouldn't allow another hit during the remainder of the contest.
