Game One
Keiser Highlights
  • The Seahawks tallied nine hits in the contest, with Avery Miller leading the way with her three-hit ballgame.
  • Larrissa Ostrander drove in two of the four KU runs.
  • Paige Boyle suffered her third loss of the year despite striking out seven batters.

Turning Point
With the Seahawks leading 3-2 after five and a half innings, the Gyrenes tacked on three runs in the sixth to eventually come away with a 5-4 win.

How it Happened
  • The Gyrenes held a 2-0 advantage through four innings of play as they capitalized on a pair of errors from Boyle in the first and fourth frame.
  • The Seahawks broke through in the sixth by plating three runs on three hits to claim their first advantage of the afternoon.
  • Miller opened the inning with a single to left and moved up to second as Cheyenne Blumberg reached on an error by the third baseman. Keiser then loaded the bases with nobody out as Janelle Dominguez reached on an infield single to third.
  • After Ally Thompson lined out back to the pitcher, Ostrander delivered a two-run single through the right side, tying the game at 2-2. KU then went in front as Dominguez came in to score on  Bermari Figueroa's fielder's choice to center.
  • However, the Gyrenes answered in the bottom half with three runs on four hits to reclaim the lead, 5-3.
  • The Seahawks attempted to rally in the seventh as Troaiana Test came in to score on a one-out error by the AMU shortstop. Brooke Pierron would settle down and retire the next two batters, lifting AMU to the game one victory, 5-4.

Game Two
Keiser Highlights
  • Keiser recorded 11 hits, all singles, from eight different batters.
  • Kelsey Brodbeck led the Seahawks with three singles, and Miller added a pair as well.
  • Autumn Green pitched a complete game while earning her seventh victory of the season. The junior struck out three while allowing just two runs.

Turning Point
The Seahawks ability to cash in on Ave Maria defensive miscues proved to be the difference maker in the contest. The Gyrenes committed three errors, resulting in three Keiser runs.

How it Happened
  • The Seahawks broke the scoreless tie in the second as Figueroa lifted a two-out single to center when a fielding error on the center fielder allowed the senior to round the bases and cross the plate.
  • An inning later, KU pushed the margin to two when Miller came in to score as Blumberg reached on a fielding error by the AMU right fielder.
  • Keiser then extended its lead to 3-0 as Ostrander drove in Blumberg with her two-out single to center.
  • The Seahawks pushed the score to 4-0 in the fourth when Dominguez reached on a one-out error by the Gyrenes' third baseman, scoring Thurman, who reached on a leadoff infield single to third.
  • Ave Maria got a run back in the bottom of the fourth, but Keiser answered in the fifth when Thompson came through with a one-out RBI single down the right field line, scoring pinch runner Alanie Cora.
  • The Gyrenes climbed within 5-2 in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI sacrifice fly to center from Emma Thompson, but Green got out of the sixth and silenced the AMU bats in the seventh to secure the 5-2 win, splitting the doubleheader.
