Game One
Keiser Highlights
  • The Seahawks honored their three seniors prior to the start of the game; Kelsey Brodbeck, Kelsie Thurman, and Bermari Figueroa.
  • Brodbeck recorded three of Keiser's five hits. The senior also stole two bases, upping her season total to 37.
  • Paige Boyle started in the circle for the Seahawks and struck out a pair in the loss.
  • Rylee Agnew tossed two shutout innings out of the bullpen and then Autumn Green pitched the final three innings while allowing just one hit.

Turning Point
Abby Pac's performance in the circle for USCB was the difference maker in the game, as she held the Seahawks to just three hits through the first five innings of play.

How it Happened
  • The Sand Sharks struck first in the opener, pushing across a pair of runs in the top of the first to take an early 2-0 lead.
  • USCB's Kayla Boyle drove in the first run on a one-out RBI double to left, and came in to score the second run of the inning as Kylie Kelly singled to center.
  • The Seahawks loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the third on a Figueroa walk followed by back-to-back singles from Janelle Dominguez and Brodbeck. However, Pac retired the next two KU batters on groundouts to get out of the jam unscathed.
  • The 2-0 score held until the bottom of the sixth as the Seahawks got a run back on Troiana Test's one-out RBI bunt single, driving in Brodbeck, who reached on a leadoff infield single to first.
  • However, the lone run in the sixth was all the KU offense could muster up, dropping game one 2-1 to USCB.

Game Two
Keiser Highlights
  • The Seahawks recorded ten hits in game two with three KU batters registering multiple hits.
  • Figueroa paced the offense with her 3-3 game at the plate, while Brodbeck and Cheyenne Blumberg each added a pair of hits.
  • For the second time on the afternoon, Boyle received the starting nod in the circle for KU. The freshman struck out three in the loss.
  • Agnew pitched three hitless innings in relief, allowing just one base runner to reach, courtesy of a walk.

Turning Point
With the Sand Sharks down to their final out trailing 2-1, Taylor Boykin laced an RBI triple to left center to tie the game, 2-2 before USCB tacked on two more runs to take game two, 4-3.

How it Happened
  • The Sand Sharks took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second as Boyle came in to score on Melina Martinez' sacrifice bunt, after leading off the inning with a single up the middle.
  • The Seahawks answered in the bottom of the third, plating a pair of runs to take their first lead of the afternoon, 2-1.
  • Figueroa and Brodbeck opened the frame with back-to-back infield singles, and then moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt from Test.
  • Two batters later, Blumberg lined a two-out single through the right side, driving in both runners to push KU in front, 2-1.
  • The score held until the top of the seventh when USCB plated three runs on three hits, all with two outs, to take a 4-2 lead.
  • Keiser then closed within 4-3 in the bottom half of the inning on Avery Miller's two-out RBI single to left center, scoring Figueroa, who reached on a leadoff single to the second baseman.
  • However, Maria Molloseau retired the next KU batter on a groundout to the second baseman to secure the 4-3 USCB win.
