With the game deadlocked at 1-1 in the top of the sixth,
Janelle Dominguez drove in her 23
rd run of the season with a huge two-out RBI double, lifting the Seahawks to the 2-1 victory.
How it Happened
- Both offenses were silenced until the Seahawks pushed across the first run of the ballgame in the top of the third.
- After the first two KU batters were retired to open the inning, Kelsey Brodbeck and Test reached on back-to-back infield singles. With Avery Miller at the plate, both runners took off in a double steal attempt when a throwing error by the Royals' catcher allowed Brodbeck to score the game's first run.
- However, the lead did not hold for long as Warner tied the contest in the bottom half of the inning on a fielder's choice by the Seahawks' second baseman.
- Keiser reclaimed the advantage in the top of the sixth when Dominguez laced a two-out RBI double to left center, scoring Test, who reached on a leadoff single to the shortstop.
- The Royals almost tied the game in the bottom of the six on Sara Bruno's one-out triple to right, but a perfect throw from Test to Dominguez got Chantal Crocket at the plate, trying to score from first.
- Green then got out of the sixth and then shut down the Royals in the seventh to earn her second save on the year and take game one 2-1.

Turning Point
Warner's three-run third inning was the difference maker in the series finale. With the game knotted at 2-2, the Royals got two runners in scoring position with one out, then delivered three consecutive RBI basehits to take the 5-2 lead.
How it Happened
- The Royals pieced together RBI singles in the first and second innings to take an early two-run lead before the Seahawks tied the game in the top of the third.
- Brodbeck reached on a one-out single to third, and moved up to second on her 34th stolen base of the season. The senior then crossed the plate as Test reached on a fielding error by the WU first baseman.
- Dominguez then tied the game with her second RBI double of the afternoon, driving in Test.
- However, Warner plated three runs in the third and one in the fourth, to reclaim the lead, 6-2.
- The Seahawks got a run back in the top of the fifth on Miller's two-out RBI single, driving in Brodbeck, who reached on a fielder's choice to close within 6-3.
- The Royals then plated the final two runs of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning, to come away with the 8-3 win in game two, splitting the doubleheader.
