How it Happened
- The Seahawks jumped out to an early 3-0 lead as Mazreku, Sullivan, and Christner tallied a goal in the opening two minutes of play.
- Ave Maria closed to within one before Keiser rattled off six of the next eight goals, extending the advantage to 9-4 with 19:09 showing.
- Both squads exchanged goals before Rillo and Christner netted unassisted goals, widening KU's lead to 12-6 at the 13:23 mark.
- The Seahawks went on to outscore the Gyrenes 4-3 and held a 16-9 advantage at the halftime break.
- Ave Maria got as close as five, 17-12, but a man-up goal by Mackenzie Gokey sparked a 4-1 run, stretching the margin to 21-13 with 13:12 to play.
- Keiser went on to lead by as many as ten but the Gyrenes netted the final goal of the game with 1:01 left, falling to the Seahawks, 25-16.
