Turning Point
Carlos Pena came off the bench in the bottom of the ninth with the game knotted at 2-2 and the bases loaded. Pena took the first pitch before lifting a sacrifice fly to right, earning Keiser the opening game of the series.
How it Happened
- Webber scored a run in the first and third innings with two-outs to lead 2-0.
- The Seahawks were held hitless through three innings until Justin Lara laced a leadoff single up the middle.
- Keiser again went hitless over the next three innings before Marco Rivera and Sherman connected on one-out singles. Carlos Lopez plated the first run with an RBI groundout to short, trailing 2-1.
- In the eighth with runners on the corners and two-away, Peter Crocitto came up with a huge RBI single to center, tying the game at 2-2.
- Sherman smashed a leadoff, full-count single up the middle and pinch runner Kyle Oliver moved to third on a first-pitch single down the left field line by Lopez. Fitzpatrick then drew a walk to load the bases and Pena won it with a sacrifice fly to right.
