Turning Point
After the Seahawks climbed to within a goal, Cumberlands Samantha Tullar scored six of the game's next seven goals to push the Patriots out in front 15-9 with 10:11 remaining in regulation.
How it Happened
- Towner and Christner netted goals in the opening five minutes before the Patriots tallied four straight goals to jump ahead 4-2 at the 18:25 mark.
- The Seahawks responded with a pair of goals from Mazreku and a man-up goal by Jordan Sullivan to regain a 5-4 advantage with 11:49 showing.
- However, UC scored three of the final four goals of the half to hold a 7-6 lead. This was the first time the Seahawks trailed at the half all season.
- Cumberlands opened the second half with two goals before Huber and Cat Raymond each found the back of the net to close within 9-8 with 22:31 to play.
- Tullar then took over for the Patriots scoring their six of the game's next seven goals to spread the lead out to 15-9 with 10:11 left in the contest.
- Keiser mounted one last comeback as Towner rattled off three straight goals to close within 16-12 at the 5:55 mark, but Cumberlands withstood the charge, handing KU their first loss of the year, 18-13.
