How it Happened
- Keiser jumped out to an early 4-0 advantage but Johnson responded with seven straight points to lead 7-4 at the 7:34 mark.
- The Seahawks soared back with an 8-2 run to regain a 12-9 advantage and held a 16-13 advantage going into the second quarter.
- Johnson blitzed Keiser out of the gates with a 13-2 run to jump in front 26-18 with 7:01 showing on the scoreboard.
- However, the Seahawks regrouped and ran off 12 consecutive points to regain a 30-26 lead with 2:32 left in the half. KU went on to lead 35-30 at the intermission break.
- The teams traded baskets until the 6:47 mark and Midori Long connected on a jumper in the paint to start an 8-0 run to lead 52-38 with 4:36 remaining in the quarter.
- Both teams then tallied six points each to send the game into the final frame with KU in front 58-44.
- Keiser's defense shutout Johnson during the opening four minutes while a Sanbria three-pointer was the only tally during the stretch.
