Highlights
The Seahawks volleyball team saw their 2018 season come to an end during the Sun Conference quarterfinals, falling to Coastal Georgia 3-0 on the road. Keiser concludes their first year under head Coach
James Rogers with an 18-16 overall record. The seven-time Sun Conference Attacker of the Week,
Abbie Seward finished with a match-best 16 kills.
Eshe Malone also tallied double-digit kills with ten.
Brooklyn VandeHei had 30 assists and
Morgan Leff chipped in 12 digs.

Set One
The Seahawks soared out of the gates by taking a 6-1 advantage but Coastal Georgia battled back to tie the set at seven apiece. Keiser quickly regained the lead and held off the Mariners until back-to-back Seahawks miscues gave CCG their first lead of the night, 13-11. A pair of Seward kills along with two attack errors by Coastal Georgia knotted the score back up at 14-14. However, the Mariners tallied seven of the next ten points to take their largest lead of the set, 21-17. KU got as close as 23-21 but the home team tallied the final two points to win 25-21.

Set Two
Coastal Georgia snatched the first three points before the Seahawks evened the score at four apiece. The Mariners then won five of the next six points to retake a 9-5 advantage but KU rallied back with an 8-4 run to tie the set back up at 13-13. However, Coastal Georgia registered the next three points to force Keiser into a timeout. Out of the stoppage, it was the Seahawks turn to win three straight points to tie things up at 16-16. The Mariners then won five consecutive points for their largest advantage of the set, 21-16. KU sliced the deficit to two before dropping the set, 25-21 and trailing 2-0 in the match.

Set Three
Seward opened the set with three straight kills and added another to help Keiser take an early 5-0 advantage. After the lead ballooned to 7-1, Coastal Georgia took a timeout and fought all the way back to within one, 9-8. A quick 4-1 burst by the Seahawks made it 13-9 but three straight points by the home team made it a one-point difference. Seward then put down a kill to start a 4-0 run to make it 17-13. Keiser kept it a four-point margin until CCG took the final timeout of the set trailing 19-15. The Mariners used the timeout in their favor, outscoring the Seahawks 9-5 to even the score at 24-24. Coastal Georgia then won the next two points of the set, ending the match and eliminating the Seahawks from the tournament.
