Women's Basketball Falls in TSC Game of the Week

  • Midori Long finished with a double-double in the Sun Conference Game of the Week, scoring a game-best 19 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
  • Donivan Dyson was close behind with 17 points while Antigonie Sanbria chipped in 14 points.
  • Yaire Rodriguez dished out a game-best four assists and had a game-high four steals.
 
Turning Point
The Seahawks led 23-20 with 7:43 remaining in the second quarter when Ave Maria scored ten unanswered points to take a 30-23 lead.
 
How it Happened
  • The opening nine minutes remained a one possession game despite three lead changes and three ties until Sanabria tallied six straight points to lead 16-12.
  • Ave Maria connected on a three-pointer with six seconds remaining to trail by one as the game moved into the second quarter.
  • Following four lead changes to begin the frame, the Gyrenes outscored the Seahawks 20-6 in the final six minutes to lead 42-29 at the break.
  • Keiser used a 7-2 run out of the locker-room to climb within eight, 44-36, with 7:54 left in the third quarter.
  • A Dyson jumper at 2:28 mark brought the margin down to 51-46, but KU remained behind at the end of the quarter, 56-50.
  • Sanabria laid the ball in to open the final stanza before AMU went on a 10-5 run make it a double digit deficit, 66-55, with 3:07 left in regulation.
  •  The Seahawks got as close as six with 39 seconds remaining but dropped the Sun Conference Game of the Week by a final of 73-62.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Keiser was outstanding from the charity stripe, finishing 12-of-14 with Long and Sanabria going a combined 8-of-8.
  • The Seahawks scored 28 points in the paint and 12 points off turnovers.
