Turning Point
Out of the halftime break, Keiser went scoreless for the first 8 minutes and 39 seconds of the third quarter. The offensive drought allowed Columbia College to go on a 19-0 run and turn a five point halftime deficit into a 43-30 advantage.

How it Happened
  • Sanabria knotted the game up at 5-5 with a triple in the early moments, but Columbia then started a 6-0 spurt to go ahead 11-5 with 4:12 on the clock in the first quarter.
  • The teams traded baskets right before the Seahawks began an 8-2 run to end the opening quarter all tied up at 15-15, as highlighted by six consecutive points from Dyson.
  • The 8-2 Seahawk run to finish the first quarter was extended to 21-2, as KU seized a 28-15 lead with 13 consecutive points after Kelly Meade's long ball cut through the net with 6:33 left in the half.
  • The Seahawk advantage grew to its largest of the game at 30-16 moments later on a Riley bucket in transition with 5:33 on the clock in the half.
  • Host Columbia was able to go into the locker room with an 8-0 run, but KU still led at the break, 30-24.
  • Columbia College produced 19 consecutive points out of half time to put the Koalas in front 43-30 with 1:39 left in the third, but Riley hit a three-pointer to cap a 5-0 response and draw the Seahawks to within single digits at 43-35 headed into the fourth.
  • The Seahawks were able to cut their deficit to two possessions (six points) on six separate occasions in the final ten minutes of play, but the Koalas were often able to create points on the offensive end when needed to hold off KU's efforts to come back.
