Keiser Highlights
  • Andrija Sarenac knocked down 9 of 13 attempts from the field including seven from distance, for a career-high 34 points.
  • The seven three-pointers by the senior ties the third-best single game performance in program history, which was set in 2006 by Chad Radosevichvs and again in 2013 by Chris Solomon.
  • Deion McClenton finished with 34 points on the afternoon, on a perfect 14 for 14 from the field. He also led the way on the glass, grabbing a team-best 12 rebounds.
  • Trystan Pratapas added 20 points off the bench while connecting on four three-pointers, and  Marko Orlic added ten points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
  • For the fourth time in program history, and for the second time in as many games, the Seahawks scored 113 points. The 113 points are tied for second-best in school history.
  • As a team, Keiser dished out 29 assists, tying for fifth-best in a single contest. The last time this was done was on Nov. 19, 2015, against Johnson University.

Turning Point
With the Seahawks trailing 96-95 with 4:03 remaining in overtime, McClenton tallied the next eight points for the Seahawks including an old-fashion three-pointer to retake a 103-96 lead with 2:42 to play.

How it Happened
  • Marko Orlic connected on back-to-back jumpers to cap off a 6-0 start for Keiser before the Wildcats answered with seven straight to take a 7-6 lead at the 16:29 mark.
  • Just 25 seconds later, a McClenton dunk ignited an 18-5 spurt for the Seahawks, including eight points from the senior, pushing KU back in front 24-12 with 10:48 to play.
  • Following a JWU jumper, Pratapas scored five straight points to spark a 16-2 run, which included three triples from Sarenac, widening the margin to 40-16 with 7:29 remaining.
  • The Wildcats then knocked down back-to-back baskets from distance to climb within 40-22, but the Seahawks responded with a 9-3 stretch to extend their lead to 49-25, with 2:55 to play.
  • However, JWU scored the final eight points of the half but continued to trail the Seahawks at the break, 49-33.
  • Following a Goss jumper to start the half, the Wildcats used back-to-back threes to spark a 15-6 run, cutting the defecit to 58-48 with 15:28 on the clock.
  • Pratapas then caught fire, scoring eight consecutive points including a pair of triples to extend the KU lead back out to 66-48 with 14 minutes to play.
  • JWU went on to outscore KU 21-12, getting to within single digits, 78-69 with 8:34 to play.
  • A McClenton basket briefly stopped the momentum, but the Wildcats rattled off the next nine points to get within two points, 80-78, with 6:15 left.
  • The Seahawks held off the visitors until Gino Fils-Aime converted a pair of free-throws with 2:37 to give JWU their first lead since the early part of the game, 87-86.
  • Johnson & Wales stretched their advantage to the largest of the game 89-86, before a McClenton layup brought KU to within one with 1:30 left in regulation.
  • After both teams converted a pair of free throws, Brandon Isa split at the line to keep JWU in front, 92-90, with 41 seconds remaining.
  • On the ensuing possession, Sarenac made a layup, while being fouled to equalize the contest 92-92. However, Sarenac was unable to convert on his free throw, keeping the game tied with 20 seconds on the clock.
  • The Wildcats had a chance to end the game in regulation, but their game-winning shot came up short, forcing the game into overtime.
  • Marko Radulovic opened with a triple from the top but the Wildcats scored back-to-back baskets to retake a 96-95 lead with 4:22 on the clock.
  • McClenton then converted on a layup with contact to kick-start a 10-0 run that included eight points from the senior, to give Keiser a 105-96 lead with 2:05 showing.
  • The Wildcats wouldn't go away quietly as they nailed three triples during a 9-2 spurt to cut the Keiser advantage to 107-105 with 48 seconds left.
  • However, the Seahawks successfully hit six of eight free-throw attempts down the stretch to seal the overtime victory, 113-108.

Coach's Corner
Head Coach Dante Calabria said "We were very fortunate tonight to come away with the win. I tip my cap tonight to coach Graham and the Johnson & Wales kids for their effort, their energy, their attentiveness to what was going on, and for never giving up. We had a little bit of a lapse in the second half, and they took advantage of it. Fortunately for us, we were able to withstand it, and get the game into overtime and sneak out of here with the win."
