Keiser Highlights
  • Five different Seahawks registered one hit in the program's first-ever NAIA Baseball World Series contest.
  • Zack Saldivar, Carlos Pena and Jack Curtis collected one RBI apiece in the three-run loss.
  • Daniel Garmendia started on the mound for the Seahawks, pitching six and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs of which five were earned.
  • Garmendia struck out eight batters in the process, while walking just three in the decision.

Turning Point
Raymond Pedrina's two-run shot in the bottom of the fifth inning proved to be the difference maker, shifting all of the momentum back in the favor of the Warriors. With Keiser trailing by just one run entering the fifth frame, Pedrina delivered two insurance runs to place the Warriors ahead by three. With the momentum, Lewis-Clark State tacked on two more runs in the sixth for a five-run lead, one in which Keiser would not come back from.

How it Happened
  • After the Seahawks went 1-2-3 in the top of the first inning, the Warriors grabbed the early advantage as Seaver Whalen connected on a two-out solo homerun to left field.
  • Lewis-Clark State extended its lead to two in the bottom of the second inning as Tyler McDowell led off the inning with a solo homerun to right field on a 1-2 count.
  • Keiser's first hit of the ballgame came in the top of the third as Reyni Olivero singled to left field, sending Miguel Casanueva to second who reached by base on balls.
  • Saldivar then singled up the middle, plating Casanueva from second to trim the Warriors' lead to just one run with one out.
  • Olivero was thrown out at third trying to stretch, meanwhile Saldivar advanced all the way to third on the throw with two outs.
  • The Seahawks missed the chance to tie the contest in the third after Gabby Mundo flew out to center field with a runner at third to end the inning.
  • Keiser got out of a jam in the bottom of the fourth inning as Lewis-Clark State had runners on first and third with nobody out.
  • Garmendia then struck out the next two batters before inducing an inning-ending pop fly to center field.
  • The Warriors stretched their lead to three in the bottom of the fifth inning off Pedrina's two-run shot over the left field fence.
  • Lewis-Clark State added two more insurance runs in the sixth inning as McDowell picked up an RBI double, later followed by Logan Griffin's sacrifice fly for the five-run lead.
  • Keiser closed the gap to 6-2 in the top of the seventh inning thanks to Jack Curtis' solo homerun on a 2-2 count, sending the ball screaming over the left field fence.
  • The Warriors picked up their final run of the ballgame in the bottom of the seventh inning as Chase Hafer scored from second on a batted ground ball to extend the lead back to five.
  • The Seahawks plated two runs in the top of the ninth off a Pena single to short followed by a double-play lineout that sent Brad Myott in to score from third.
  • Keiser could not cut the deficit any closer as Carlos Lopez struck out to end the contest.
