Match Summary
No. 3 Keiser held on to defeat No. 7 Lindsey Wilson by the final score of 5-4 to advance to the program's first-ever NAIA Men's Tennis Final Four appearance. Not only is this the most wins in a single season in program history (21), it is also the first time that head coach Daniel Finn has taken a men's team this far in the tournament. The Seahawks reached this point in the season after upending Finn's alma mater and former team in the Blue Raiders.

Doubles
  • Keiser jumped on board first in the number three doubles slot as Julian Turosienski and Romai Ugarte won 8-5 over Ivan Solans Diaz and Tomas Depiaggio.
  • The Blue Raiders tied the match at one apiece from the second doubles position as Javier Raya and Filip Persson bested Bastien Sorg and Shaquille Taylor, 8-5.
  • Keiser finished doubles on top 2-1 with Francesco Oliva and Clement Raymond's 8-6 triumph over Denis Porcic and Alonso Tellez from the top doubles slot.

Singles
  • Sorg doubled Keiser's lead to 3-1 in singles play, coming back from down 3-0 to take a 4-3 lead before Porcic was forced to retire due to an injury.
  • Shortly after Sorg's win, Ugarte cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Raya to place Keiser ahead 4-1 with things looking strong for the Seahawks with four matches left.
  • Lindsey Wilson would not go away as Cobi Ho bested Taylor in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 to cut the Keiser advantage to 4-2.
  • Diaz pulled the Blue Raiders to within one as Lindsey Wilson mounted a comeback following the 6-2, 6-3 win over Raymond in the second singles spot.
  • With Keiser leading 4-3 with two singles matches left, fate would have it that both of the singles contests would go into a third set to set up a dramatic finish.
  • The singles matches were a tale of two sets as Arthur Bonnaud pulled away from Tellez, while Turosienski fell behind Depiaggio.
  • Turosienski dropped the third and final set by the score of 6-2 to set up a winner-take-all singles battle at the four singles slot with the match knotted at four apiece.
  • Bonnaud raced ahead to a 5-2 advantage in the set and then dropped the next game to hold a 5-3 advantage with the serve in hand.
  • Following a medical timeout, the French native stuck a commanding serve that forced Tellez to put the ball wide, giving Bonnaud the 40-30 advantage and the serve for match point.
  • Bonnaud capitalized on his lethal serve, forcing Tellez to run back and forth on the line before airmailing a shot out of bounds.
  • Bonnaud watched the ball sail in the air and land past the line before lifting his hands up to the sky and being ferociously mobbed by his teammates following the cheers and tears from the Keiser players, sending the Seahawks into the final four for the first time in program history.

Coach's Corner
"Wow, just wow," stated head coach Daniel Finn. "Words can't describe how proud I am of the boys today. Top to bottom it wasn't our best performance but the ability of players to step up when called upon today is incredible. This match in so many ways was about more than tennis. Lindsey Wilson is a very good program with a lot of tradition and they exemplify that when they play and bring a ton of energy at you. Credit to them as they fought us the whole way. The way Arthur fought through everything at the end and clinched the match for us was amazing and really showed the heart, guts and grit that the boys possess. Today we certainly showed it and obviously this is a great win for us and the program. Now it's on to focusing for tomorrow in the semifinals."

Up Next
