Match Summary
The No. 5 Keiser women's tennis squad cruised to the 7-2 victory over No. 17 Olivet Nazarene at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton, Fla. The Seahawks never trailed in the match as the Tigers smallest deficit was 2-1 coming out of doubles play.
 
Doubles
  • Juliana Goncalves and Teodora Stanciu got the ball rolling from the No. 3 doubles slot, defeating Mikaela Coose and Anna Belschner, 8-1.
  • The No. 9 ranked doubles tandem of Megane Bianco and Julianna Heino upended No. 23 Victoria Monakhova and Faith Huckabee in the No. 1 doubles hole, 8-1, to extend the Keiser lead to 2-0.
  • Priscila Nunez and Anna Kuechenberg provided the 8-5 win for the Tigers in the No. 2 doubles position, avoiding the clean sweep.
 
Singles
  • Goncalves quickly stretched the Keiser lead back to two with a 6-0, 6-0 win from the No. 3 slot over Coose.
  • Bianco, ranked ninth in ITA rankings, pulled Keiser to within one of clinching the match from the No. 1 singles position, defeating No. 16 Nunez, 6-2, 6-1.
  • After the Tigers won from the No. 4 singles spot to pull to within two, Lorene Foerste put Olivet Nazarene away with her 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Kuechenberg from the No. 5 spot.
  • Keiser claimed the final two singles wins of the match, including Heino downing No. 6 Monakhova, 7-6(8), 7-5.
 
Coach's Corner
"The ladies did a great job today staying composed and performing when they needed to most," stated head coach Daniel Finn. "The past 10 days has been tough playing four straight ranked opponents. To come away playing the way we are it's easy to say I am very pleased. The ladies are playing some really solid tennis right now."

Keiser returns to the court on Monday when the Seahawks play their final home game of the season against Missouri Baptist at 11:30 a.m. at Oxbridge Academy.
