Match Summary
The No. 4 Keiser women's tennis squad capped off conference play with an 8-1 triumph over No. 22 St. Thomas in Miami Gardens, Fla. The victory pushed Keiser to 5-1 to finish conference play this season, finishing second in the conference behind SCAD-Savannah.
 
Doubles
  • Megane Bianco and Julianna Heino started the Keiser scoring with an 8-3 win in the No. 1 doubles slot over Victoria Slavina and Ksenia Slavina.
  • Samantha Guy and Lorene Foerste doubled the Seahawks' lead to 2-0 with an 8-4 win over Cynthia Diaz and Naomi Maehama in the second doubles position.
  • Keiser completed the doubles sweep over the Bobcats as Juliana Goncalves and Teodora Stanciu bested Cassandra Lemieux and Marine Uyttenhove, 8-2.
 
Singles
  • Bianco extended the Keiser lead to 4-0 with her straight set sweep over Lemieux in the No. 1 singles hole, 6-0, 6-0.
  • Goncalves clinched the second seed in the Sun Conference standings with her 6-2, 6-0 win over Ksenia Slavina to clinch the 5-0 lead.
  • The Seahawks won three of the last four singles matches as the lone Bobcats win came from the No. 4 singles position with Maehama downing Guy in three sets.
 
Coach's Corner
"The ladies played really well today," commented head coach Daniel Finn. "We did a great job of controlling the tempo and playing the match on our terms. I'm really proud of how far the ladies have come this season and how much they've improved and grown as a team. We still have lofty goals in front of us but they are on the right path. I'm really happy to be playing some of our best tennis this late in the season."

Keiser will conclude the regular season on April 9 when the Seahawks take on NCAA Division II Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla., at 11 a.m.
