Keiser University claims the No. 7 ranking in the third regular-season edition of the NAIA Men's Lacrosse Coaches' Top 10 poll, the national office announced Tuesday. The Seahawks were ranked tenth in the first poll, eighth in the second, and now up one more spot to seventh in this week's edition.
Missouri Valley remains atop the poll with seven first-place votes and 92 points. Lourdes is second with one first-place vote and 92 points, and Reinhardt is third with 84 points. Keiser in the seventh spot, earning 58 points.
This past week, Keiser went 2-0 with a forfeit win from St. Andrews and an 18-9 win over Tennessee Wesleyan on Senior Day. The Seahawks are currently 5-0 overall on the year.
Craig Marentette paces the offense with 23 goals, ten assists, and 33 points which are all tops for the Seahawks.
Eddie Grieco also has ten assists which is tied with Marentette. Chad Straus leads the way with 24 groundballs and is 48-88 on faceoffs. Â On defense,
Justin Stone has forced 13 turnovers and
Jake Padden has made 26 saves in goal.
Keiser is tops in the NAIA in assists per game with 12.5 and goals per game with 21.5. They are second in shots on goal per game with 32.7 and third in total points with 136 and total goals with 86. Marentette leads the nation in goals and points per game while ranking second in shots per game and goals per game.
Jacob Bomberry is third in the NAIA in goals per game with 4.75.
