KU HIGHLIGHTS

• The Seahawks honored their lone senior and first team captain in program history Brandon Shouvely prior to the game.
• Craig Marentette scored a season high eight goals on 14 shots while picking up two assists for a season high ten points.
• Freshman Nick Dwyer earned his first collegiate start in goal and made ten saves.
• The Seahawks caused 22 turnovers on the afternoon and went 16-21 on clear attempts.
• Keiser picked up 36 groundballs opposed to 22 by the Bulldogs.

TURNING POINT
The turning point came after Tennessee Wesleyan scored a man-up goal to get within 7-5 but a pair of goals by Marentette gave the Seahawks a 9-5 advantage heading into the break.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Tennessee Wesleyan gave the Seahawks their first deficit of the season after scoring the opening goal at the 13:45 mark of the first quarter.
• The Seahawks responded by picking up goals from Eddie Grieco and Nolan Duncan to retake a 2-1 advantage with 10:17 left in the quarter.
• The Bulldogs matched Keiser with a pair of goals but Justin Flint found the back of the net to tie the game at 3-3 heading into the second quarter.
• Marentette scored the first two goals of the second quarter before TWU found the back of the net to keep the game within a goal, 5-4.
• A pair of goals by Flint and Jacob Bomberry pushed the advantage to 7-4 but man-up goal by the Bulldogs trimmed it to 7-5. However, the Seahawks scored two straight goals to take a 9-5 lead at the half.
• Marentette stayed hot coming out of the break, notching two more goals to lead 11-5. Following a goal by the Bulldogs, Bomberry score two unanswered goals, pushing the margin to 13-6.
• The teams traded a pair of goals down the stretch to keep the Seahawks in the lead 15-8, heading into the final quarter of play.
• Keiser outscored Tennessee Wesleyan 3-1 in the final period with goals coming from Marentette, Duncan, and Bomberry, to win the game 18-9.

COACH'S CORNER
Head Coach Patrick Johnston said, "We're happy with how our guys responded to a solid and patient TWU offense and how we responded in the second and third quarters by taking the edge in groundballs and face-offs.  It was a real team effort to start getting the ball more after having it on offense for a few possessions in the first quarter. Marentette stepped up big time for us offensively and Shouvely stepped up defensively which helped us get going against a good team."
