Game One
Keiser Highlights
- Four Keiser players recorded a hit in the contest.
- Riley Caylor suffered the loss on the mound despite striking out six batters.
- Kelsey Brodbeck had two stolen bases in the contest.
Turning Point
The turning point of the game came in the sixth inning when the game was tied 2-2 and the Nighthawks hit back-to-back home runs with one out, to take a 5-2 advantage.
Â
How it Happened
- Brodbeck led off the bottom of the first with a walk and then stole second. Kristen Garceau followed, reaching on a fielding error by the shortstop. Garceau then took off for second, forcing the catcher into a decision that led to an overthrow of the third basemen, allowing Brodbeck to score for a 1-0 lead.
- Cassidy Miller upped the advantage to 2-0 with an RBI single to left center. Dajia Jones then singled and a sacrifice bunt by Avery Miller moved both runners up a base, with one out.
- However, Thomas got the next two Seahawks to strikeout to escape the early jam.
- Thomas led off the fourth with a single to short and a Daniels triple to right center cut the deficit to 2-1.
- Caylor then settled down and got a pair of fly outs and a groundout to end the inning. Â
- The Nighthawks tied the game in the fifth with a one-out solo homer to left center. Thomas then took the lead for good in the sixth with back-to-back homers to win the game, 5-2.
