Keiser Highlights
  • Claudia Reque and Kaylee Patton each notched 15 points to lead the Seahawks in the scoring efforts, followed by Midori Long with 10 points.
  • The Seahawks corralled a total of 61 rebounds, ranking third most in a single game in Keiser history.
  • 45 of the 61 Keiser rebounds came on the defensive end, tying the school record for defensive rebounds in single game set on Nov. 28, 2006 against none other than Johnson & Wales.
 
Turning Point
The turning point in tonight's contest came in the final 4:52 of the first quarter when the Seahawks ended the quarter on a 14-0 run. Trailing 8-3, Keiser tied the game at eight apiece after a layup by Jamilla Banks Wall and a triple by Patton. Four different Seahawks contributed in the final nine points of the quarter, led by Reque's three points.
 
How it Happened
  • Keiser scored the first three points of the contest before yielding eight unanswered points to the Wildcats, falling behind 8-3.
  • Keiser scored the next 14 points to conclude the quarter with the 17-8 advantage as six different Seahawks scored during the run led by Patton and Reque's triples.
  • Keiser extended its lead to 12 points in the second quarter but the Wildcats fought back to cut the deficit to just three points with 3:10 remaining in the half.
  • Keiser ended the half on a 7-3 run to take the 35-28 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
  • The Seahawks came out of the locker firing, outscoring Johnson & Wales 16-3 through the first 3:30 of the third quarter, taking the 51-31 advantage.
  • The Wildcats cut the deficit to 16 twice in the remaining 6:30 of the third quarter but the Seahawks stretched their lead to 23 points heading into the final quarter of play.
  • Keiser ran away with the contest in the final quarter, stretching its lead to as much as 29 points as Johnson & Wales was not able to trim the deficit into the teens, falling 82-59.
