th minute when TWU scored the second goal of the contest, extending their lead to 2-0.
How it Happened
- Tennessee Wesleyan netted the game's opening goal in the ninth minute when Els Van Hoijdonk chipped Elsa Netz from the midfield, to lead 1-0.
- The Bulldogs added to their advantage in the 30th minute after Nicole Broderick found the back of the net off a through ball from Chloe Rootes, making it 2-0.
- Olivia White had a chance to get the Seahawks on the board in the 40th minute but her header glanced off the crossbar.
- Keiser broke through in the 60th minute when Amanda Blixt headed in a corner by Filippa Millqvist, to get within 2-1.
- In the 67th minute, Millqvist nearly equalized the game from 25 yards out but the keeper managed to save the ball off the crossbar with her head.
- The Seahawks had two great chances in the final five minutes but the Bulldogs defense held tight and prevailed.
Game Notes
- This was the first meeting in school history between these two squads.
- The last time Keiser didn't make it out of the opening round was in 2011, snapping a five year streak for the Seahawks.
- KU outshot the Bulldogs 28-4 and held a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal.
