• Truett McConnell jumped out to a 16-13 in the first quarter, but the Seahawks outscored the Bears 15-13 in the second quarter to come within one at the half, 29-28.
• The Bears spread the gap in the third quarter, outscoring KU 15-8 to jump ahead 44-36.
• The Seahawks closed the gap down the stretch, outscoring the Bears 14-5 in the first nine minutes of the fourth quarter to get within one following a Dyson three-pointer.
• The final minute of the game came down to free-throw shooting, and the Bears hit all of their final four attempts to seal their 53-50 win.
