The Seahawks volleyball team went on the road Wednesday evening and fell to Webber International, 3-0.
Abbie Seward paced the attack with eight kills and
Amanda Medlock was close behind with seven.
Faryn Salazar passed for 25 assists and
Morgan Leff had a team-best 14 digs.
Set One
Webber jumped out to a 5-1 lead before an
Amanda Medlock kill and an attack error trimmed the deficit to 5-3. The Warriors quickly regrouped and extended their advantage to 16-8, when an
Abbie Seward kill jump-started a 5-1 run to get to within 17-13. However, Keiser couldn't get any closer and fell 25-18.
Set Two
The Seahawks held an early advantage despite four ties before the Warriors took their first lead at 6-5. A Medlock kill and two straight kills by Seward, put Keiser back ahead 8-6 but WIU answered with five straight points to regain an 11-8 advantage. The Warriors then pushed the margin to the largest of the set at 21-16 but a 3-0 spurt by KU closed the gap to 21-19, capped by a
Lindsey Keegan kill. Webber would go on to win, 25-21 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set Three
Webber jumped out to another comfortable lead in the third set and did not look back. Keiser closed the gap to as much as three points but the Warriors held the Seahawks in check and went on to win the final set 25-19.
