Highlights
The Seahawks comeback fell just short against Ave Maria on the road this afternoon, 3-2. Keiser dropped the first two sets before claiming the next two to send the match into the decisive fifth set for the third time this season. Rasheena Mansel (13 kills, 10 digs) and Morgan Stuive (25 assists, 13 digs) finished the match with double-doubles. Senior, Lindsey Keegan chipped in a team-best 17 digs.

Set One
Ave Maria controlled the first half of the set leading by as many as nine, 13-4 before the Seahawks stormed back with a 13-4 run to tie the set at 17-17. Keiser took their first lead of the match at 20-18 but the Gyrenes ran off five unanswered to reclaim a 23-20 advantage. AMU went on to take the set, 25-22.

Set Two
Keiser raced out to a 5-1 lead before Ave Maria rattled off eight of the next ten points to gain a 9-7 advantage. The Seahawks continued chipping away, tying the set at 14-14 but AMU took the next three points to lead 17-14. Following a Keiser timeout, the Seahawks tallied three straight to retie the set at 17-apiece. KU then held a two-point lead and had the first set point at 24-22 but a pair of Gyrenes kills knotted it at 24-24, leading to a Keiser timeout. The Seahawks were unable to rebound and fell, 27-25.

Set Three
The Seahawks fought off the sweep by taking the third set, 25-17 and forcing the match into a fourth set.  With the set tied 3-3, an Amanda Medlock kill sparked a 5-0 run to put Keiser out in front 8-3. The Seahawks pushed the margin to 12-5 and didn't allow Ave Maria any closer than 17-13 before coming away victorious.

Set Four
Keiser clung to a one-point lead, 5-4 before Medlock served the Seahawks to four unanswered, upping the margin to 9-4. Ave Maria got to within 10-7 but a pair of Samantha Thompson kills sparked a 9-3 run, extending the advantage to largest of the set, 19-10. However, Ave Maria wouldn't go down without a fight, outscoring the Seahawks 11-2 to tie set at 21-21, and forcing Keiser to call a timeout. Following a pair of lead changes, an attack error and a Rasheena Mansel kill gave the Seahawks a 25-23 victory, forcing a winner take all fifth set.

Set Five
Ave Maria started fast by taking a 5-1 lead before the Seahawks rattled off the next three points to get within 5-4. The Gyrenes pushed their advantage back out to 8-5 and again Keiser got to within one at 8-7 before AMU won the next two points leading to a Seahawks timeout. Out of the break, the Seahawks ran off five unanswered to take a 12-10 advantage but Ave Maria claimed the next two points to knot the set at 12-apiece. However, the Seahawks were unable to gain another lead and fell 16-14.
